How to read a hi-vis rating
ANSI/ISEA 107 labels garments by Type and Class. Type O is off-road, Type R roadway and Type P public safety. Class 1 has the least background and reflective material, Class 2 more, Class 3 the most (a Class 3 garment has sleeves). Class E covers pants and shorts that reach Class 3 only when worn with a Class 2 or 3 top. The label inside the garment shows the type, class and the number of wash cycles the rating is tested to.
Ratings and specifications on this page are shown as published by the manufacturer or the named standard and describe performance in that standard's test. They are not a recommendation for any task. The employer's hazard assessment decides what protective equipment a job needs. Verify details against the manufacturer's current documentation before you buy.
