In plain words. A chemical glove is described by the material (nitrile, neoprene, PVC, butyl, natural rubber latex, Viton), its thickness in mil (thousandths of an inch), its length in inches, whether it is lined (flock, cotton, unlined) and its grip finish. Which chemicals it resists, and for how long, is published by the manufacturer per chemical as a breakthrough time; that table is on the manufacturer's spec sheet, not here. The EN 374 mark lists the letter codes of the chemicals the glove was tested against.
Technical. ASTM F739 measures permeation breakthrough time and rate; ASTM D5151 tests for pinholes (AQL); EN ISO 374-1:2016 marks Type A (6 chemicals over 30 min), Type B (3 chemicals) or Type C (1 chemical over 10 min) with the letter codes of the chemicals from the EN 374 list (for example K for sodium hydroxide, J for n-heptane); EN 374-5 covers micro-organisms and viruses. Thickness, length and lining values are the manufacturer's.
Ratings and specifications on this page are shown as published by the manufacturer or the named standard and describe performance in that standard's test. They are not a recommendation for any task. The employer's hazard assessment decides what protective equipment a job needs. Verify details against the manufacturer's current documentation before you buy.
