Supplied-air couplers and hoses (North CF-SAR Selection Guide)
The guide gives the suffix key for quick-connect couplers: C = CEJN, F = Foster, H = Hansen, S = Schrader, ST = Snap-Tite. 880040 is the female coupler for 3/8 in. ID airline hose and 880060 for 1/2 in. ID hose; 880161 is the male coupler and bushing that connects the breathing tube to the female coupler; 88600 is the assembly with one male and one female coupler for 3/8 in. ID hose (includes 880161 and 880040) and 88800 the same for 1/2 in. ID hose (includes 880161 and 880060). The vortex tube assemblies (88600xV, 88800xV) can only be used with CF1000 Series and compressed breathable air sources, and include a male plug to connect to the female coupler on the airline hose. Air-line respirators can be used only with respirable air meeting CGA G-7.1 Grade D or higher (NIOSH approval label caution D).

Assigned protection factor
| Respirator type (OSHA Table 1) | APF |
|---|---|
| Supplied-air respirator, continuous flow, half mask | 50 |
| Supplied-air respirator, continuous flow, full facepiece | 1000 |
| Supplied-air respirator, continuous flow, helmet/hood (manufacturer-tested to APF 1,000) | 1000 |
Source: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 Table 1 (Assigned Protection Factors). The APF applies only when the respirator is used in a program that meets the standard, including fit testing of tight-fitting facepieces (29 CFR 1910.134(f)) and a cartridge change schedule (29 CFR 1910.134(d)(3)(iii)).
Converts the 5500 and 7700 Series half masks and the 5400 and 7600 Series full facepieces into a continuous flow supplied air respirator. Connects to facepiece cartridge connections quickly and easily - no tools required.
- Breathing tube section close to face is soft and flexible
- Section behind back will not kink and interrupt air supply
- Swivel connection rotates 360 degrees so connection stays secure: no matter how much workers move around
- Y' breathing tube design goes over the shoulders so breathing tube is out of the way: lower profile on half masks to fit under welding helmets and faceshields
- No tools required
