Fit testing and the OSHA standard
29 CFR 1910.134(f) requires a fit test before first use of a tight-fitting respirator, whenever a different facepiece is used, and at least annually; it allows the qualitative (QLFT) and quantitative (QNFT) protocols in Appendix A, which include the Bitrex (denatonium benzoate) and irritant smoke qualitative protocols. The 770046 irritant smoke tubes and the 140090 kit are for the irritant smoke protocol; the 193170 kit and the 193171/193172 solutions are for the Bitrex protocol; 770021 is the quantitative fit test adapter for the 5400, 5500, 7600 and 7700 Series.
