What the federal rule says
Each entry is condensed from the paragraph cited; the paragraph itself is the rule and the link opens it.
29 CFR 1910.134(d)(2): IDLH atmospheres require a pressure-demand SCBA or a combination pressure-demand supplied-air respirator with auxiliary self-contained air supply; respirators provided only for escape from IDLH atmospheres shall be NIOSH-certified for escape from the atmosphere in which they will be used.
29 CFR 1910.134(d)(3)(iii)(B): For gases and vapors below IDLH: an atmosphere-supplying respirator, or an air-purifying respirator with a NIOSH-certified ESLI for the contaminant, or a cartridge change schedule based on objective data.

What the makers' data lists for hydrogen sulfide
Hydrogen sulfide is listed on the North chart for the N75003L, 7583P100L, 75SCL and 75SCP100L cartridges (as part of acid gas or the Defender multi-purpose group) and in Dräger's selection guide for its Multi-Gas+ HS filters. The IDLH of 100 ppm (NIOSH) is the line above which 1910.134(d)(2) applies. Draeger-Tubes and gas monitors for H2S are on the gas detection pages.
