Respirators for Spray Painting and Isocyanates
Paint overspray, solvent vapors and isocyanate (TDI, MDI, HDI) coatings: the exposure limits, the OSHA and Cal/OSHA rule paragraphs as written, and the North and Dräger respirators, cartridges and filters whose own published data lists the hazard, with live prices. We sell nationwide; ships in 1–2 business days; most orders arrive in 3–7 business days.
The exposure limits

What the federal rule says
Each entry is condensed from the paragraph cited; the paragraph itself is the rule and the link opens it.
29 CFR 1910.94(c)(6)(iii)(a) (spray finishing): When an operator is in a booth downstream from the object being sprayed, an air-supplied respirator or other type of respirator must be used by employees that has been approved by NIOSH under 42 CFR part 84 for the material being sprayed.
29 CFR 1910.134(d)(3)(iii)(B): Where a cartridge change schedule is used, the employer must implement a change schedule for canisters and cartridges that is based on objective information or data that will ensure that canisters and cartridges are changed before the end of their service life.

California (Cal/OSHA)
Each entry is condensed from the paragraph cited; the paragraph itself is the rule and the link opens it.
Title 8 §5144(d)(3): Cal/OSHA's respiratory protection standard carries the same selection rule: the respirator must be adequate for the hazard and the employer must use a cartridge change schedule or an end-of-service-life indicator for gas and vapor cartridges.

What the makers' data lists for paint overspray, solvent vapors and isocyanate
Neither maker's published cartridge chart names isocyanates as a protection: the North chart lists organic vapor (OV) cartridges and P100 filters, and Dräger's selection guide lists its OV and OV/P100 filters for the solvents (toluene, xylene, acetone, 2-butanone). 29 CFR 1910.94(c)(6)(iii) names an air-supplied respirator for the operator downstream of the object in a booth. The North CF2000 continuous-flow supplied-air assemblies and the Primair 100 hoods are on their own pages.
