Fire Extinguishers for UPS and Battery Rooms
A UPS or battery room is energized electrical equipment under NFPA 10 (2026) 6.4, so a Class C-rated unit is required, and if the room is small the halogenated agent minimum room volume (5.3.2.6.1) decides which clean agent unit can go in it. NFPA 10 has no extinguisher class for lithium-ion batteries themselves. Below: the sections in plain words, the units that fit by room volume with live prices, and what the manufacturer and the standard do not claim. Ships in 1–2 business days; most orders arrive in 3–7 business days.
What NFPA 10 (2026) says for this room

| 5.5.4.6.2 | Dry chemical extinguishers are not installed for the protection of delicate electronic equipment. |
| 6.4.1 to 6.4.3 | Class C-rated units are required where energized electrical equipment can be encountered; they are sized and located on the Class A or Class B hazard present (2-A minimum within 75 ft for light and ordinary Class A hazard; 5-B within 30 ft or 10-B within 50 ft for light Class B). |
| 5.3.2.6.1 | Halogenated agent units follow the nameplate minimum room volume. |

Which unit fits the room volume
NFPA 10 (2026) 5.3.2.6.1: extinguishers containing halogenated agents are placed in line with the minimum confined-space volume on the nameplate. Length x width x height in feet gives the room volume in cubic feet.

Lithium-ion batteries
NFPA 10 (2026) defines Classes A, B, C, D and K; there is no class for lithium-ion battery fires, and the Amerex HT Series is listed for Class A, B and C (551) or B and C. No portable clean agent unit on this page is listed for a lithium-ion battery fire. Battery energy storage systems fall under NFPA 855; read it with the authority having jurisdiction before relying on any portable extinguisher in a battery room.
Small battery rooms
Many battery rooms are under 2,988 cubic feet. In that case Amerex does not list the 551 for the room; the 547 or 549 (896 cubic feet and up, 5B:C) or the A537TS (427 and up, 2B:C) are the HT Series units Amerex lists, and the Class A requirement for the floor is met elsewhere per 6.2.

Fire Extinguishers for UPS and Battery Rooms questions
What fire extinguisher goes in a UPS room? A Class C-rated unit (NFPA 10 (2026) 6.4.1). If a halogenated clean agent is chosen, the room must be at least the nameplate minimum volume (5.3.2.6.1).
Is there a lithium-ion fire extinguisher? NFPA 10 (2026) has no class for lithium-ion battery fires, and the clean agent units on this page are not listed for them. Battery energy storage is covered by NFPA 855.
My battery room is 2,200 cubic feet. Which Amerex HT unit fits? Amerex lists the 547 and 549 from 896 cubic feet and the A537TS from 427; the 551 is listed from 2,988 cubic feet, so it is not listed for that room.
