Cross-sensitivity (handbook, p. 261): Hydrochloric acid is also indicated at high concentrations. 10000 ppm hydrochloric acid corresponds to a reading of 150 ppm sulfur dioxide. 500 ppm nitric oxide or 100 ppm nitrogen dioxide have no effect.
