Cross-sensitivity (handbook, p. 137): Other aromatics (toluene, xylene) are retained in the pre-layer. As a result, this also changes to a reddish brown color. If the concentrations of toluene or xylene are too high, the entire pre-layer through to the indicating layer is discolored, in which case a benzene measurement is not possible. Gasoline hydrocarbons, alcohols, and esters do not affect the reading.

Draeger 8101741 questions
What does the Draeger 8101741 measure? Benzene in air, measuring range 15 to 420 ppm.
How many pump strokes does the 8101741 take? 20 to 2 strokes (n) per the handbook, p. 137. Measuring time max. 4 min.
Which pump does the 8101741 use? A Draeger tube pump: the accuro hand pump or the X-act 5000. Per the handbook (p. 28–29), Draeger short-term tubes and Draeger tube pumps are matched at the factory and form a single unit; using other pumps with Draeger tubes, or other tubes with Draeger pumps, can impair the measurement.
What is the color change on the 8101741? white → reddish brown, read against the scale printed on the tube.
Do Draeger 8101741 tubes expire? Yes. Draeger prints an expiration date (month and year) on the package; the handbook states a typical shelf life for the customer of up to two years, stored sealed at the temperature on the package strip (handbook section 2.13).
How many tubes are in a box of 8101741? 10. Each tube is used once.
