Cross-sensitivity (handbook, p. 192): The reading is not affected by 10 ppm H2S and 2 ppm SO2. Other acid gases are also indicated, but with different sensitivities. Chlorine discolors the indicating layer gray. The simultaneous influ- ence of chlorine leads to higher HCl readings.

Draeger 8103481 questions
What does the Draeger 8103481 measure? Hydrochloric acid in air, measuring range 0.2 to 3 ppm / 3 to 20 ppm.
How many pump strokes does the 8103481 take? 10 /2 strokes (n) per the handbook, p. 192. Measuring time approx. 2 min / 0.4 min.
Which pump does the 8103481 use? A Draeger tube pump: the accuro hand pump or the X-act 5000. Per the handbook (p. 28–29), Draeger short-term tubes and Draeger tube pumps are matched at the factory and form a single unit; using other pumps with Draeger tubes, or other tubes with Draeger pumps, can impair the measurement.
What is the color change on the 8103481? blue → yellow, read against the scale printed on the tube.
Do Draeger 8103481 tubes expire? Yes. Draeger prints an expiration date (month and year) on the package; the handbook states a typical shelf life for the customer of up to two years, stored sealed at the temperature on the package strip (handbook section 2.13).
How many tubes are in a box of 8103481? 10. Each tube is used once.
