Cross-sensitivity (handbook, p. 148): Acetylene reacts in a similar way to carbon monoxide, but with lower sensitivity. Benzene, halogenated hydrocarbons, and hydrogen sulfide are retained in the pre-layer. At higher concentrations of interfering hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons, a carbon attachment tube with order no. CH 24 101 should be added upstream. Scissile halogenated hydrocarbons (e.g., trichloroethylene) at high- er concentrations can form chromyl chloride in the pre-layer, which causes yellow-brown discoloration in the indicating layer. A carbon monoxide measurement is not possible with high olefin concentrations.
Note (handbook, p. 148): This Dräger-Tube can only be used to measure carbon monoxide in hydrogen.

Draeger CH19701 questions
What does the Draeger CH19701 measure? Carbon monoxide in air, measuring range 8 to 150 ppm CO in H2.
How many pump strokes does the CH19701 take? 10 strokes (n) per the handbook, p. 148. Measuring time approx. 2 min.
Which pump does the CH19701 use? A Draeger tube pump: the accuro hand pump or the X-act 5000. Per the handbook (p. 28–29), Draeger short-term tubes and Draeger tube pumps are matched at the factory and form a single unit; using other pumps with Draeger tubes, or other tubes with Draeger pumps, can impair the measurement.
What is the color change on the CH19701? white → light brown, read against the scale printed on the tube.
Do Draeger CH19701 tubes expire? Yes. Draeger prints an expiration date (month and year) on the package; the handbook states a typical shelf life for the customer of up to two years, stored sealed at the temperature on the package strip (handbook section 2.13).
How many tubes are in a box of CH19701? 10. Each tube is used once.
